Vikki meets Fearne Cotton, has some tests and starts making cakes out of nappies.
My life is very surreal sometimes. I seem to alternate between a life that's nothing short of a mundane and various strange things that most people never do!
I've recently taken up a new hobby. I would like to turn it into a business but at the moment I'm not well enough. It all started when my Mum's friend had a baby. My Mum was buying a blanket, an outfit, bibs and socks. I took them and turned them into a 'diaper cake', along the lines of one I saw in an episode of Sex and the City, but with a twist- it was presented as a teddy bear sitting in an arm chair, rather than a cake. Everything it was made of could be used for the baby. My mum's friend wasn't happy when she heard we had made her a nappy cake. Her response was "Aren't I fat enough already?" She thought we had baked a sponge cake and put a nappy on top. Still, she was thrilled when she saw it.
Everyone who saw it on the sideboard and knew someone who was having a baby placed an order, so my hobby grew - not only is my room full of Post Pals stuff there's lots of baby stuff now too! You can see them on my Facebook group.

It's been another month where most of my energy has been spent on hospital things. I had an appointment following my previous tests which resulted in four new types of medication and a CT scan. I haven't had a CT before, but knew it was nothing to worry about. You lie there with your arms above your head while the table moves you back and forth, holding your breath when you're told to. All the while the scanner spins round like a giant washing machine.
The results showed a problem with my gallbladder which -you've guessed it -needs further tests and the three medications for my bowel had done nothing. So I've come off them and they have been replaced with different ones. I have to go back in a month.
In between the scan and follow up appointment I had an afternoon in London. I met Harry G (a Post Pal child), his mum Sue, sister Ellie and her friend Megan for lunch. Afterwards we went next door to a boardroom where the girls interviewed me and Fearne Cotton for their school, in hope the school will choose Post Pals as their charity of the year. Other students did a presentation - but I bet theirs wasn't like Ellie and Megan's! Fingers crossed they pick us.
As I said, life is surreal sometimes!
