Is it possible to overdose on cannabis?

Cannabis comes in different forms that can vary greatly in strength, but according to Drugscope "there is no overdose risk... [and] no confirmed published cases of human deaths related to cannabis poisoning".
Probably the biggest short-term risk of cannabis is impaired driving skills - you should never drive when stoned. Other short-term effects of cannabis can include increased heart rate, mood swings, anxiety and paranoia. High doses can cause mild hallucinations and sensory distortions. Mixing alcohol with a high dose of cannabis may cause nausea and vomiting.
Longer-term risks of regular cannabis use can include an emotional dependency on taking the drug and a possible connection with psychotic illness.
The laws around cannabis have recently changed. It is a Class C drug, which means that the penalties for possession have been reduced but the penalties for dealing are still the same.
