Freckles

Freckles

Are you cute and freckly, or do you call yourself dot-to-dot?

What are they?

Freckles are made up of small, concentrated dots of melanin. They are perfectly harmless, and should not be confused with moles.

  • Generally, freckles multiply and darken in the sun, then fade in winter.
  • Freckles can sometimes be minimised by the use of sunscreen lotions containing para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA).

Leave it!

  • Contrary to what your grandma might tell you, freckles cannot be scrubbed off with lemon juice, milk or cream.
  • Most people find freckles attractive, so it seems a shame to hide them behind make-up. If you've got the freckles, why not flaunt 'em?
